Allen is All in for Congress in the

First District Race

Allen announces candidacy across the Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan

Petoskey, MI, April 26, 2010

“I am running for Congress to represent the people of Northern Michigan and stop the Washington spending craze.  I am deeply concerned about the future of our country.

We have runaway government spending, a government takeover of health care that we cannot afford, illegals and terrorists who get better treatment by our government than our citizens and a job crisis in northern Michigan that is more severe than anywhere else in the nation,” Allen said.

“Michigan’s economy is hurting, especially in the First Congressional District. We need to get to the job of creating real jobs not temporary shovel ready projects, Allen said.” Allen is noted for his economic development efforts. Upper Peninsula mayors have applauded his Main Street Michigan programs to revitalize communities across the Upper Peninsula.

Allen was particularly critical of Washington saying, “I am struck by how our leaders have lost their way.  We are delivering frightening debt to our children.  Washington D.C. has become a place of red ink and bailouts, while Northern Michigan continues to suffer. It is time to get tough and stop this spending insanity,” Allen said.

On a more personal note Allen said, “I was raised in the shadow of the mighty Mackinac bridge.  Northern Michigan is my home.  Conservative values,  hard work and respect for our neighbors is our way of life,” said Allen.   “I am a republican, a conservative, a small businessman, a state senator, a sportsman, a veteran and a family man. It’s time we put the real people of Northern Michigan first and say no more Washington D.C. politics and spending sprees.”

Allen was accompanied by is wife Suzanne and daughters Meredith and Amanda.
